HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY
We are on a journey to reinstate our own independence from suffering and struggle.
There is a story in Genesis chapter 19 about Lot, his wife and two daughters that were told to flee the towns of Sodom and Gomorah, that was about to be destroyed by God with fire. The metaphysical and spiritual interpretation of this story, I believe, gives an insight on how to handle the problems and challenges that we experience in our everyday modern world.
The metaphysical interpretation of Sodom is, a concealed or a hidden pleasure stimulus of man and Gomorah represents a state of mind that is adverse to the laws of Spirit. (incorrect focus on sense pleasure and my way is the best way) We try hard to justify our sense thoughts and secret habits of thinking and wonder why our life isn’t working.
An abbreviated version of the story finds Lot and family being pushed to leave the cities before the fire occurs. As they are leaving, the cities erupt into fire and are destroyed. Lot and family are encouraged to continue on their journey without looking back. Lot’s wife does look back and is turned into a “pillar of salt.” This phrase is interpreted by the Lamsa Bible as an idiom in the Aramaic language that means: “she became petrified with fear and died.”
A spiritual or metaphysical understanding of this whole story is the advice that comes down to us today for guidance in our spiritual path back to our True Self or spiritual awareness.
To overcome the bind that we find ourselves in and complete our journey back to the Father’s house, we need to burn up and leave behind us the old ways of thinking and acting and not look back. This includes the hidden sensual pleasures and stubborn need for control of our lives that we have adopted as our normal way of being in the world.
It is a time to clean out and surrender the old ways of thinking and acting that allows room in our consciousness for the Father within to create the new world that we are seeking. This is the secret. We have the code of the Garden of Eden lifestyle that we are seeking already within us. We just have to clean up the false code that we carry within us and keep moving forward by allowing the Christ Code already there to manifest without looking back and digging up the old invalid code.
The Kingdom of Heaven (our child of God inheritance) is within us. We just have to give it room to come forward in our busy lives by letting go and being quiet long enough for the divine code to come forward.
