Be Transformed By the Renewing of Your Mind

In todays world, people are asking for answers and solutions to solve problems and struggles and in this simple statement from the apostle Paul, in his letter to the Romans, lies the beginning step to those answers we are looking for.

The whole quote from Romans 12:2 reads (Lamsa translation): "Do not imitate the way of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, that you may discern what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

There are a few things to know as we apply this suggestion from Paul. The word discern means to perceive or recognize something. In this context, it would be to recognize that the way of the world doesn’t work for the peace, harmony and abundance we are looking for. There is another way. A spiritual way that is called God's Will and can only be reached when we have transformed our thinking into that which is good and acceptable.

The question then becomes, what is good and acceptable? This Paul answers in Ephesians 4 when he says in verses 31 & 32, "Let all bitterness and wrath and clamoring and blasphemy be put away from you, together with malice; and be kind one to another and tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God has forgiven us."

Unfortunately, this spiritual way of God is counter intuitive to the ways of the world that teaches anger, fear, retribution, jealousy, and attack. However, if we understand the law of mind action, that we create what we think, talk and act about, it gets pretty clear when we stop to look at our creations, that we are in an endless cycle of creating what we don't want. Those cycles change when we follow the rules of Spirit as outlined by Paul.

We will look at these ideas in our Sunday message as we follow the spiritual path back to the Father's house of harmony and peace.

I Love you,

Rev. Robert
